Dr. Kawano is an Assistant Professor in the Cardiac Surgery Division of MedStar Washington Hospital Center. He is also a Director of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery. He completed his advanced training at both Brigham and Women's Hospital and Emory St Joseph's Hospital. His main interest is all spectrum of minimally invasive cardiac surgery, especially in robotic assisted cardiac surgery. He has performed more than 2,000 cardiovascular surgeries over the last 10 years.
