Dr. George Van Hare is an FDA Medical Officer and a member of the Implantable Electrophysiology Devices team in the Office of Cardiovascular Devices at FDA. He is involved in the review of cardiac rhythm management devices as well as devices for pediatric cardiology and broader pediatric needs. He is a member of the PEDs (Pediatric Extrapolation for Devices) team and is interested in helping facilitate the availability of cardiac devices for children. In addition, Dr. Van Har is a practicing pediatric cardiologist and interventional pediatric electrophysiologist, and maintans an appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital. where he previously served for 10 years as Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Co-Director of the St. Louis Children’s Heart Center.
