Robert Prud'homme is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, and founding Director of the Engineering Biology Program at Princeton University. His research interests include biopolymer solutions and gels, surfactant mesophases, and polymer/surfactant mixtures. His research has special emphasis on drug delivery and the scalable production of nanoparticles by block-copolymer-directed, rapid precipitations processes. The confined impinging jet technology developed in his lab is used in all COVID LNP vaccines. It is also used by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to produce drugs for global health applications. He was inducted into the National Academy of Inventors. in 2023.
