CRR Strategist NFPA Sharon, Massachusetts, United States
Limited capacity. Registration required. Jump start your CRR-L conference experience with a half-day workshop led by the NFPA CRR team. Chelsea Rubadou, NFPA 1300 staff liaison and Karen Berard-Reed, NFPA CRR Lead, will provide a solid overview of CRR useful for professionals entering the CRR space, specialists who are seeking a deeper understanding, and for champions who are eager to bring content back to grow their local CRR teams. This session will help professionals build their functional knowledge about Community Risk Reduction to ensure effective implementation. Participants will leave the session able to describe the value Community Risk Reduction (CRR) brings to the fire department and the larger community, apply the CRR process as outlined in NFPA 1300, differentiate between fire prevention, public education, community outreach, and CRR while recognizing the value each group brings to the community, and identify key partners and stakeholders in the CRR process. The workshop will serve as an excellent networking opportunity at the start of the conference and prepare participants to engage in sessions.
