Captain Jackson County Fire District 3 White City, Oregon, United States
Over the last five years, Fire District 3 has undergone a slow but transformative process to put CRR front of mind of its personnel. From this process, the District now staffs a Deputy Chief of Strategic Services, a Captain to lead CRR initiatives, a a fire data insights analyst, all Officer promotions require the presentation of CRR problem appropriate for their level of responsibility coupled with the execution of a CRR project as part of those Officer's probationary development year. Fire District 3 serves approximately 167 square miles which is a largely rural population with extreme WUI wildfire risk. The District serves over 54,000 in population with a large number "aging in place" residents who have benefited from the District's Community Care Program.
In this presentation, our presenters will discuss the philosophy and path Fire District 3 took to navigate the organization in the direction by putting CRR as the focus of its operations.
