Course Description: This course is based on the AUA Vasectomy Guideline and the practical experience of the faculty members. Faculty presenters will use real cases to illustrate the most important points in the AUA Vasectomy Guideline, which is the first and only evidence-based guideline on this topic and the gold standard for vasectomy surgeons. The audience will be strongly encouraged to participate in the case discussions. The cases will focus on preoperative counseling and preparation for vasectomy, surgical and anesthetic techniques, and postoperative management of the vasectomy patient. Many practical tips will be included and there will be robust discussion of a number of ethical dilemmas related to vasectomy. The course will be interesting to anyone who performs vasectomy or counsels patients about contraception and family planning.
