Mary Fakunle is a first year SUO fellow at the University of California Los Angeles Department of Urology. She is originally from Baltimore, Maryland, completed her medical school training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and completed urology residency training at the University of California San Francisco. As her clinical year of fellowship finishes, she is preparing for her research year, focused on prostate cancer genomics, and ancestry in VA patients. Her research goals focus around how ancestry and genomics play a role in prostate cancer incidence, aggressiveness, and outcome. He plans to continue this research as she starts her career as a Urologic Oncologist.
