Javier Pérez Ardavín, MD, PhD, is a consultant urologist at Hospital Universitari i Politècnic La Fe in Valencia, Spain, specializing in uro-oncology. His clinical and academic work focuses on prostate and bladder cancer, with a particular interest in translational research, advanced imaging, and biomarker development.
Dr. Pérez Ardavín obtained his PhD with honors (cum laude) and has developed an active research career with over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including contributions to high-impact journals. His research in bladder cancer includes work on urinary biomarkers, metabolomics, and NETosis, aiming to improve disease characterization and patient stratification. He is also involved in projects exploring innovative diagnostic approaches and integrating emerging technologies into clinical practice.
He is an active member of the European Association of Urology and serves as an Associate Member of the EAU Imaging Section (ESUI), as well as a member of its Artificial Intelligence Working Group. In addition, he is a board member (Valencia representative) of the Valencian Urology Association (AUCV).
Dr. Pérez Ardavín regularly participates as a speaker at national and international meetings, including the AUA and EAU annual congresses, and contributes to multidisciplinary initiatives in urologic oncology. He is also involved in postgraduate teaching and serves as a resident tutor, reflecting his commitment to education and clinical excellence.
