Dr. J. Tyler Roseman is a board-certified urologist who has been practicing at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System and the Central Virginia VA Medical Center since August 2014 and holds the rank of Associate Professor. He received his BS in Chemistry (Biochem Track) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2008. Subsequently, he completed his General Surgery Internship (2009) and his Urology Residency (2013) at the University of Louisville, followed by a Fellowship in Genitourinary Reconstruction in 2014 with Chuck Secrest in Longview, TX.
Dr. Roseman has served as the Associate Program Director for the Urology Residency Program and the M3 Urology Clerkship Director at VCU since 2016. He has been recognized by the residents at VCU for Excellence in Teaching and has co-created a Virtual Sub-Internship for visiting 4th-year medical students that has been cited as a model for other programs throughout the nation. In addition, he has served as Scientific Program Chair for the annual meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Section of the AUA as well as the Virginia Urological Society. He has served as a visiting professor in Hue, Vietnam through International Volunteers in Urology, teaching reconstructive techniques to Urology residents and attendings in Vietnam.
Dr. Roseman’s research and clinical interests include urethral stricture disease, peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, acquired buried penis, male and female incontinence, practice improvement, and innovations in medical education.
