Dr. Nagendra Nath Mishra is a urologist by profession and is working in Shree Krishna Medical College, Karamsad, Anand India. (Affiliated to Pramukh Swami Medical College. He finished MD from N H L Municipal Medical College, Ahmedabad India. After finishing his Masters in Surgery also underwent training in Urology at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai India. He has 30 years of experience in managing urological patients. After 28 years of solo urological practice in Ahmedabad, India he joined Pramukh Swami Medical College Anand India as Consultant Urologist and in involved in managing urological patients and training surgical residents.
His main interest in clinical practice is Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction, Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome(IC/BPS), Endourology and Urooncology.
He is a pioneer in India for Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder pain Syndrome and his center is a referral center for chronic painful pelvic diseases. He has devoted his life working with IC/BPS patients and has developed a new intravesical formulation to treat IC/BPS. This novel formulation intravesical Tacrolimus is helpful in treating 50% of patients of intractable IC/BPS. He is the first researcher to prove that if a mixture of tacrolimus and water is instilled in the urinary bladder of human beings, tacrolimus gets absorbed in the blood and is effective in treating bladder symptoms of IC/BPS.
He is involved with many international organizations working in the field of IC/BPS both scientific and patient. His mission in life is to develop cure for IC/BPS patients, a painful unmet need of the world. He believes in the philosophy that prevent disease if you can, cure if a disease can not be prevented and treat if a disease can not be cured.
