Dr MacDiarmid is director of the Alliance Urology Specialists Bladder Control and Pelvic Pain Center in Greensboro, NC. He completed fellowships in reconstructive urology and urodynamics at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC; the University of Otago in Christchurch, New Zealand; and the University of Sheffield in England. He is currently a clinical professor of Urology in the Department of Urology, at the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill, NC.
Dr MacDiarmid’s clinical, educational, and academic expertise is in male and female voiding dysfunction, neurogenic bladder, and complex lower urinary tract and pelvic floor reconstruction, and he has lectured extensively on these topics. He has authored or co-authored numerous books, book chapters and journal articles, and is recognized nationwide as a leader in his field. He has been instrumental both clinically and academically in advancing the field of neuromodulation in the treatment of overactive bladder.
