Haijun Yao,MD, is a board-certified urologist who specializes in urologic reconstructive surgery. He has a special interest in caring for people with complex genitourinary conditions such as penoscrotal tumor, urethral stricture,hypospadias,urinary tract fistulas (rectourethral and vesicovaginal), post prostatectomy male incontinence, ureteral injury as well as those who have complications in the genitourinary area as a result of trauma.His clinical research focuses on genitourethral reconstruction,including organ-preserved penile cancer surgery, EMPD treatment,urethral reconstruction, complications from prostate cancer therapy,and genitourinary trauma management.
He graduated from Shanghai Second Medical University (now named as Shanghai Jiao Tong University,School of Medicine) in 2003, and then served as resident (2003.07-2011.12), attending (2011.12-2019.12) and deputy chief surgeon in the department of Urology, Shanghai 9th People's Hospital. Dr.Yao is a member of several medical organizations, including Chinese Medical Association, Chinese society of sexuality, and International Society of sexual Medicine.
