Professor
Cincinnati Children's Hospital
A native Kentuckian, I graduated AOA from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine in 1996 and subsequently completed Urology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. I came to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in 2001 as a Fellow in Pediatric Urology and stayed on as faculty in 2003. In order to facilitate a career in clinical outcomes research, I obtained an MPH at Harvard University from 2003 to 2005. Since 2007, I have served as the Director of Clinical Research for the Division of Pediatric Urology at Cincinnati Children’s. I have published over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and textbook chapters and perform peer review for nine Urology and Nephrology journals. I have advanced to the rank of full Professor of Surgery with an Endowed Chair in Clinical Outcomes Research.
I have a strong interest in medical education and have been the Director of our ACGME-accredited Pediatric Urology Fellowship Program since 2011. I have served as Chair of the Pediatric Urology Fellowship Directors Committee and on the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Executive Committee.
On a national level, I was the president of the American Association of Pediatric Urologists in 2016 after having served as Secretary-treasurer for five years. I have been selected as a member-at-large of the Executive Committee of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Urology and am focusing on growing our membership.
In 2014, I was selected to the AUA Leadership Scholar program and presented a quality improvement project to the AUA Board of Trustees to improve the dissemination of clinical guidelines.
I have subsequently been promoted to Professor of Surgery (Urology) at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and received an Endowed Chair in Clinical Outcomes Research in 2018.
