Medical Student
Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine
Zaeem Lone (BA) is currently a fourth year medical student at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine where he is pursuing a MD and MS in Bioinformatics from Case Western Reserve University. After graduating Phi Beta Kappa, from Johns Hopkins University, I elected to spend a research year in Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center where I worked in the urology department. Since then, I have been very interested in the surgical management of genitourinary malignancies particularly bladder and prostate cancer. Through invaluable mentorship at the Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute, I have personally become interested in leveraging genomics and other tumor markers in better risk stratifying patients for management of their malignancies. Currently, I've been on a fully-funded research year where I have been exploring how the urinary microbiome influences BCG response in non-muscle invasive bladder cancer. I will be applying in the upcoming AUA match cycle as an aspiring urologist and hope to continue my training to become a surgeon-scientist.
