Kikuye Sugiyama is a dedicated student clinician scientist making contributions to urology research. Currently in their third year of medical school at Boston University, their work focuses on intraoperative local urologic anesthesia and optimizing 24-hour urine collection in Boston. Driven by a passion for improving surgical outcomes, they explore innovative pain management techniques. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient comfort and collection rates. Beyond their research, they actively engage with the medical community through presentations and publications. With their drive, compassion, and scientific acumen, Kikuye Sugiyama is a part of shaping the future of urologic care, improving patient outcomes, and advancing the field. This year they will be completing their MBA in healthcare administration to further enhance their capacity to improve patient outcomes.
