Julia Smolen is a third-year medical student at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Her medical and research interests are in the field of Surgery, having participated in both Trauma Surgery and Urogynecology research projects. Following graduation, Julia hopes to become involved in global surgical care and systems building in LMICs.
