Ralph Grauer, MD, MBA (PGY-1 resident) hails from Tampa, Florida. He attended undergrad at the University of Florida where he double majored in Neuroscience and Economics and also obtained a minor in chemistry. He attended the University of Virginia for medical school where he was mentored by Tracey Krupski, Noah Schenkman, Mikel Gray, and Kirsten Greene in the department of urology. He obtained an MBA from the Darden School of Business while in Charlottesville where his studies concentrated in data science and analytics guided by Dr. Sasa Zorc. Following this dual degree, he went unmatched following his first attempt at obtaining a residency position in urology. He undertook a research year under the tutelage of Drs. Mani Menon and Michael Gorin, ultimately obtaining a residency position in urology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, the following year. His interests lie in big data projects with analytically-derived insights, lean manufacturing principles applied to everyday workflow, minimally-invasive surgery, and infertility.
