Dr. Al-Naggar is an assistant professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in the Center on Aging and Department of Cell Biology. She is interested in testing geroscience guided interventions , i.e., targeting the biology of aging, to improve lower urinary tract symptoms in older adults. She also discovered the senescence of umbrella cells in the bladder over the mouse lifespan and is interested in studying the role of senescent cells in bladder dysfunction and bladder cancer. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Naggar is interested in developing urinary biomarkers for studying aging, with a specfic focus on lower urinary tract aging.
