Ephrem Olweny is an Associate Professor of Urology and Chief of Endourology in the Department of Urology at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. He graduated from the Washington University School of Medicine, and completed residecy training at the University of California, San Francisco. This was followed by fellowship training in Endourology / Minimally Invasive Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. His clinical practice focuses in endourology and minimally invasive urology, encompassing implementation of advanced minimally invasive techniques in the treatment of complex kidney stone disease as well as benign and malignant conditions of the upper urinary tract. His academic focus is in assessing the impact of minimally invasive therapies for stone disease on patient quality of life and disease burden, understanding the changing epidemiology of stone disease, and in evaluating strategies for optimization of treatment outcomes.
