Dr. Thomas Masterson is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Urology in the Department of Urology at the Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Bruce W Carter Miami VA Medical Center. Originally a native of Philadelphia, he earned his BS in biology from Temple University where he was also a four-year Varsity rower. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed his residency in Urology and fellowship in andrology at the University of Miami. Dr. Masterson is trained in prosthetics, microsurgery and infertility. His clinical responsibility includes teaching medical student, residents, and andrology fellows. His research interests include treatment of male infertility, fertility preservation, testosterone replacement, male sexual dysfunction. He is co-investigator on an RO1 studying the safety and efficacy of combination shock wave therapy with platelet rich plasma to treat erectile dysfunction. He is additionally involved in clinical trials assessing the safely and efficacy of restorative therapies for erectile dysfunction and Peyronies Disease. Dr. Masterson has over 50 peer reviewed publications and is a reviewer for Journal of Urology, Fertility and Sterility, American Journal of Men’s Health, International Journal of Impotence Research, Gold Journal of Urology, and Andrology.
