Dr. Ibilibor is an Assistant Professor in the department of Urology, Division of Urologic Oncology at the University of Virginia. She is a fellowship trained urologic oncologist who earned her medical degrees at the Medical College of Georgia, completed her urology residency at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX and Society of Urologic Oncology Fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. In addition, she earned her Master’s in Clinical Investigation and Translational Science at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at San Antonio. Her research interests include patient longevity and wellness with the utilization of mindfulness and aerobic exercise as vehicles for pre-habilitation in the perioperative period for patients undergoing radical cystectomy. To this end, Dr. Ibilibor serves at the principal investigator for Pre-Habilitation with Mindfulness and Exercise for Patients Undergoing Radical Cystectomy (PRIMER) trial. PRIMER is a currently accruing pilot trial funded by the iTHRIV scholars program and the American Cancer Society. Dr. Ibilibor is also interested in health disparities in prostate cancer and the representation of Black/African American men in clinical trials in that space. She is committed to serving the large catchment area of the UVA Health system, and partnering with local urologists and oncologists to treat complex urologic malignancies through her position as a Virginia Urological Society Board member. Dr. Ibilibor is the Assistant Program Director for the University of Virginia Society of Urologic Oncology fellowship and is invested in educating the next generation of urologists and urologic oncologists. Her clinical interests include robot-assisted and minimally invasive surgical approaches for the treatment of urologic malignancies.
