Dr. Dharam Kaushik is an Associate Professor and program director of urologic oncology fellowship in the department of urology at the University of Texas Health San Antonio. He completed his urology surgical residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska and clinical fellowship in urologic oncology with leaders in cancer surgery at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Kaushik has expertise in surgical management of advanced renal cell carcinoma, including with complex tumor thrombus, retroperitoneal lymph node dissection for testicular cancer, bladder cancer, radical cystectomy, orthotopic neobladder reconstruction, robotic and open complex partial nephrectomy, penile and urethral cancer, inguinal lymph node dissection and salvage prostatectomy for post radiation failure in prostate cancer.
Dr Kaushikâs primary research interests include renal cell carcinoma with tumor thrombus, detection of novel biomarkers, newer therapeutic targets and studying mechanism of drug resistance in renal cell carcinoma, evaluating effect of exercise (Yoga) in urologic cancer.
