Adam B. Murphy, MD, MBA, MSCI is a urologist and an Associate Professor at Northwestern Medicine. He has been studying the health disparities faced by minorities in prostate cancer, including Black and Hispanic men.His lab focuses on the health disparities faced by Black men and Hispaic men in prostate cancer. His research focuses on the role of biomarkers and risk prediction tools in men at risk of prostate cancer or diagnosed with prostate cancer. Working closely with a team of Chicago-based academic urologists, Dr. Murphy aims to improve the safety of active surveillance for prostate cancer in underserved populations.Clinically he is interested in general urology and men's health and has appointments at Northwestern Medicine and Jesse Brown VA Medical Center. He is currently leading the Education Committee on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for the Cancer Prevention Clinical Trials Network for the NIH and is Assistant Director for Community Outreach and Engagement for the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.
