Men's Health Clinical Coordinator
Ken Mitchell is a certified Physician Assistant with over 27 years of clinical experience overall and with over 26 years of experience in male erectile and sexual dysfunction. Ken authored and implemented an innovative treatment protocol The Surgical Impotence Management Strategy (SIMS©) protocol that includes comprehensive patient education and delivery of care for men undergoing Prostate Cancer treatment. Ken has served as a co-investigator in sexual dysfunction research and continues to be active in this area. Ken actively promotes Men’s health and has participated in community outreach programs to educate men about sexual and overall health. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on the subject of Men’s Health and sexual dysfunction. He is a co-author of the AUA Consensus Statement on Advanced Practice Providers (APP) and has given multiple presentations and has published articles on the subject of integration and utilization of APP’s in a urology practice. His practice interests include general men’s health and male sexual dysfunction.
Ken received his B.S. in Biology from Dana College (1988), and his Masters in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) at the University of Nebraska Physician Assistant Program (1995). Ken is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), the Urological Association of Physician Assistants (UAPA), associate member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, Past Chair of the AUA /APP Membership Committee, Past President of UAPA completing two consecutive terms as President, Past Chair of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America APN/PA Affairs Committee, and board member at-large of the American Society of Men’s Health (ASMH). Ken was inducted into the Pi Alpha PA National Honor Society in 2016. Ken is the Founder and President of GUYnecology® Men’s Health Association a non-profit organization dedicated to Men’s Health research, provider & consumer education, and health promotion.
