Urology/Men's Health APP
Ken Mitchell, MPAS, PA-C, is a certified Physician Associate with over 30 years of clinical experience, including more than 28 years specializing in Men’s Health, male sexual dysfunction, and infertility. In 2005, he authored the Surgical Impotence Management Strategy (SIMS©) protocol, an innovative approach to educating and treating men undergoing prostate cancer therapy. A passionate advocate for Men’s Health, Ken has led community outreach initiatives, provider training, and patient education programs, and has lectured nationally and internationally on male sexual health.
Ken is a recognized leader in advancing APP practice, contributing to the AUA Consensus Statement on Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and co-authoring the 2024 AUA Update Series on APPs in Urology. He earned his B.S. in Biology from Dana College and his Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.
Ken is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the Urological Association of Physician Associates (UAPA), an associate member of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, and Secretary/Treasurer of the American Society of Men’s Health (ASMH). His leadership roles include Past President of UAPA and Past Chair of the AUA APP Membership Committee.
An inductee of the Pi Alpha Honor Society, Ken was named the 2023 AUA APP of the Year and a POCN Top PA in Urology. He is the Co-Founder and CEO of GUYnecology® Men’s Health Association, a non-profit dedicated to training providers, educating consumers, promoting health, and supporting research.
