Dr. Lane S. Palmer is Chief and Professor of Urology and Pediatrics at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York/ Zucker School of Medciine at Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine in Long Island. Dr. Palmer earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York followed by his urology training at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. He completed pediatric urology fellowship training at Children’s Memorial Medical Center (now Lurie Children’s) in Chicago under Dr. Casimir Firlit. His areas of interest include voiding dysfunction, on which he has published and lectured extensively and has among the largest experience in biofeedback in the world, urologic imaging, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, as well as congenital reconstruction. As Pediatric Urology Fellowship Program Director, Dr. Palmer has trained 20 fellows and has influenced 15 residents to pursue pediatric fellowship training. He has twice been named Outstanding Teacher by the Northwell Health System. He is currently President of the New York Section of the AUA and Governor of the American College of Surgeons.He served as President of the Societies for Pediatric Urology, President of the Council of Pediatric Urology Fellowship Program Directors, Chair Pediatric Section of both the AUA Core Curriculum and AUA National Urology Ultrasound Faculty, and has been a judge for the AUA National Chief Resident Debate since its inception. Dr. Palmer has well over 150 contributions to the literature, including editing “Pediatric and Adolescent Urologic Imaging” and has served on the editorial board and/or reviewer for over 20 journals.
