Urology
Jessica DeLong, MD, FACS is a genitourinary reconstructive surgeon and Associate Professor of Urology. She earned her medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia in 2007 and was appointed to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biology and Spanish at the University of Virginia in 2003. Both her surgery internship and urology residency were completed at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Massachusetts. After graduating from her residency in 2013, she went on to complete her fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Reconstructive Urology at Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2014.
Dr. DeLong specializes in pelvic floor and genitourinary reconstruction, including urethral stricture, Peyronie’s disease, erectile dysfunction, male and female incontinence, female prolapse, and complicated urinary disorders. She is board certified in urology and is a member of the American Urological Association (AUA), Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), Société Internationale d’ Urologie (SIU), and Society of Women in Urology (SWIU).
Dr. DeLong has published in many journals and texts regarding her work. She has presented her research extensively both at the national and international level. She is co-chair for a Pelvic Floor/Women’s Health center at a local hospital. She is committed to work in resource poor settings and has traveled as a volunteer both while in training and as a visiting professor to set up sustainable training models for surgical care. She is the co-founder and co-director of the first genitourinary reconstructive urology fellowship in the Caribbean, and of a 501c3 non-profit, SAFE Surgery and Anesthesia For Everyone, Inc.
