Associate Professor of Oncology
Qiang (John) Li, MD, PhD, is a physician-scientist and translational cancer biologist at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center specializing in urologic oncology. He provides clinical care for patients with genitourinary cancers. His research focuses on the molecular mechanisms driving bladder cancer progression, lineage plasticity, and therapeutic resistance, with an emphasis on DNA damage response. Dr. Li leads multidisciplinary efforts integrating genomics, transcriptomics, and advanced preclinical models (including mouse models and patient-derived xenografts) to develop novel intravesical and systemic therapeutic strategies. His work aims to bridge mechanistic discovery with clinical translation to improve outcomes for patients with bladder cancer.
