JEREMY BURTON Obtained his PhD from the University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand), was Post doctoral fellow Lawson Health Research Institute (2001-2003), Biotech industry scientist (2003-11), Deputy Director of the Canadian Centre for Human Microbiome and Probiotic Research and Lawson Scientist at St Joseph’s since 2011. He has held the Miriam Burnett Chair in Urological Sciences funded by the W Garfield Weston Foundation since 2013. The current main focus of his research program is to study the microbiota in diseases of increasing economic burden such as urolithiasis, urological cancers, biofilm on medical devices and to see how faecal transplant, probiotics, drugs, diet and new technologies may be able to improve such conditions.
