Akanksha Mehta, MD MS is an Associate Professor of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Mehta graduated magna cum laude from Brown University in Providence, RI, with a Bachelor of Science (Biology) and a Bachelor of Art (International Relations). She earned her MD from Alpert Medical School at Brown University, where she also completed her General Surgery internship and Urology residency. Following residency, Dr. Mehta pursued a fellowship in Male Infertility and Microsurgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York, NY, after which she joined the Department of Urology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Mehta currently serves the Urology Residency Program Director, and as the Director of Male Reproductive Health at Emory. She is a Guest Researcher at the Division of Reproductive Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her research interests focus on improving access to care for the diagnosis and treatment of male factor infertility, and promoting fertility preservation and recovery of sexual function among cancer survivors. She is the recipient of research grants from the Urology Care Foundation, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, and the Movember Foundation, for her work.
