Robert Abouassaly, MD, MS is the Institute Chief of the Integrated Surgical Institute at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, where he leads clinical operations, strategic growth, and innovation across multiple surgical specialties .
He is a urologic oncologist with training at McGill University, Cleveland Clinic, and the University of Toronto, and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Epidemiology. Prior to his current role, he held multiple senior leadership positions within the Cleveland Clinic health system, including Director of Urology for the Western Region and Continuous Improvement Officer.
Dr. Abouassaly is a Professor of Urology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and an internationally recognized researcher and educator, with over 200 peer-reviewed publications. In recent months, he has assumed expanded leadership responsibilities at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, including advancing enterprise efforts in clinical integration and responsible use of artificial intelligence in healthcare.
