Dr. Punnen is a board certified Urologic Oncologist and Prosfessor in the Desai Sethi Urology Institute at the University of Miami and Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He completed medical school at Queen's University and residency training in Urology at the University of Toronto, Canada. He then went on to complete a fellowship in Urologic Oncology and Masters in Clinical Research at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Punnen is the Vice Chair of research in the Desai Sethi Urology Institute. He also serves as co leader of the cancer control research program and assistant director of clinical research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. He is heavily involved in prostate cancer research, including being the prinicipal investigator of NIH funded clinical trials, publishing over 150 peer reviewed manuscrtips, and being the recipient of the Pap Corps Endowed Chair of Solid Tumor Research.
