Dr. Wayne J.G. Hellstrom is Professor of Urology and Chief of Andrology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He earned his M.D. from McGill University in Montreal, where he also completed a general surgery residency. He subsequently completed a urology residency at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by an AUA scholar-funded fellowship in andrology at the University of California, Davis. He is Past President of the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, the American Society of Andrology, and the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM). He has authored or coauthored over 100 book chapters and more than 570 peer-reviewed journal articles. His recent honors include the Living Legend Award (Society of Urologic Prosthetic Surgeons [SUPS], 2022), the Distinguished Mentor Award (AUA, 2024), the Lifetime Achievement Award (ISSM, 2026), and the Dedication to Education Award (Androgen Society, 2026).
