Dr Pow-Sang is a Senior Member and the Chair and Program Leader of Genitourinary Oncology at the Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Fl. Originally from Peru, he completed residencies in surgery and urology at the University of Miami School of Medicine and a fellowship in urological oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Dr. Pow-Sang also holds an MBA from the University of South Florida. He is past president of the Confederacion Americana de Urologia, and he has served as Moffitt’s Chief of Surgery and Director of the Robotic Program. Dr. Pow-Sang received the 2022 AUA Gold-Headed Cane Award for a superlative career dedicated to advancing urologic oncology, resident education, and physician development. He is a member of the NCCN Prostate Cancer Guidelines Panel and is acting chair of the Florida Prostate Cancer Advisory Council. He is a principal investigator for numerous clinical trials and has contributed over 250 peer-reviewed articles related to GU malignancies. His focus is on prostate cancer early detection, active surveillance, and focal therapy.
