Course Description: Physician burnout impacts at least 40% of urologists and leads to medical errors, relationship difficulties and attrition. But having a long, rewarding and productive career is not just about overcoming burnout; it’s also about maintaining a positive and efficient practice culture, improving ergonomics in practice to prevent injury, and maintaining excellent mental and physical health. These often-overlooked aspects of a surgical career are important factors in finding joy in practicing medicine and in having a fulfilling life.

Learning Objectives:

Implement and maintain an efficient and positive practice culture.
Improve ergonomics to prevent work-related injuries which can limit practice longevity.
Assess and improve mental well-being by using proven strategies to increase self-awareness and combat thought distortion.
Assess and improve physical well-being through thoughtful implementation of health maintenance and lifestyle changes.
