Course Description: Telemedicine/Virtual Care has rapidly expanded in today’s tech savvy world where digital relationships have become as commonplace as face-to-face encounters. Quality urologic care is often inaccessible or limited in many rural communities and even in urban populations for those with limited means and/or time. Telemedicine/Virtual Care platforms are changing these paradigms. This course will explore the opportunities and challenges in teleurology by focusing on proven techniques for enhancement of urologic care. Participants are guided through practice integration, pitfalls, billing, regulations, and the changing legislative landscape of telemedicine/virtual care.

Learning Objectives:

Identify basic terminology of telemedicine, digital health, AI, teleurology and delivery systems available.
Identify and differentiate best practices in delivery of teleurology or virtual care including consideration of patient equity.
Interpret current regulatory practices and medico-legal considerations to develop a compliant teleurology practice.
Develop and integrate a urology-specific telemedicine offering in your own practice.
Produce an action plan to accomplish learning objective #4 by the year 2026.
