Course Description: Recent advances in our understanding of male genital tumors (penile, scrotal and urethral) as well as the concepts of organ approaches, minimally invasive surgical approaches to the inguinal lymph nodes and multidisciplinary care to locally advanced disease will be discussed through clinically pertinent case presentations. Throughout these presentations, we will highlight important clinical considerations and review the rapidly evolving peer-reviewed scientific literature supporting such treatment approaches.

Learning Objectives:

Diagnose and treat patients with penile cancer of different stages and grade. There is currently significant heterogeneity among urologists and within clinical practices pertaining to the evidence-based treatment strategies they implement in the care of unfortunate patients impacted with penile cancer.
Review the evidence-based treatment guidelines (National Comprehensive Cancer Network®, European Association of Urology) for the diagnosis and management of penile cancer.
Discuss the important surgical principles of penile cancer surgery which optimize treatment-specific outcomes.
Describe the importance of multimodal therapy to high-risk and/or locally advanced penile cancer.
Identify the clinical/pathological features favoring the use of adjuvant therapy following surgical management of such cancers.
Recognize the potential role of radiotherapy in the management of penile cancer.
