Independent practice research settings are growing in size within the US. However there are barriers to these practice settings for researchers that fail to empower early career researchers to pursue research in a setting that is not academic institutions. In this symposium we plan to empower researchers from all levels of experience to consider and explore opportunities in a rapidly growing research setting. The symposium will also explore methods to clearly define what independent practice research is, how it is beneficial, the best methods for execution of independent practice research, and how to publish research from an independent practice.
Learning Objectives:
Apply the necessary skills to maintain a competent clinical research workforce to better align with protocol complexity in drug and device development.
Define the value proposition and ever-evolving components for independent practice and its role within the community.
Demonstrate the components of an optimized relationship between leaders in independent practice, academia, and biopharma and device industry.
