Dr Bentov is an Associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine and an adjunct Associate professor in the department of Medicine at the University of Washington, in Seattle. Dr Bentov received his M.D. from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and his Ph.D. from the Tel Aviv University-NIH graduate partnership program. He provides patient care at Harborview Medical Center, the only level 1 trauma center in the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) area. The focus of his clinical and research interests is to provide perioperative care to older patients and elucidate the basic mechanisms that govern the response to injury in this vulnerable population. Dr Bentov has received research support as a principal investigator from the NIA/NIH and from the UW royalty research fund to study clinical, radiological and biochemical mechanisms that lead to aging related vulnerability and frailty. He is the UW site co-director for the NIH funded Medical Student Training in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program.
