Dr. Erin Lange is a colorectal surgeon at St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, WI, part of the SSM Health system. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and her master's degree in population health from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in Madison, WI. She earned her medical degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. Dr. Lange completed her internship, residency, and a research fellowship in general surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison. She then went on to complete a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. In addition, she completed a year-long course in advanced healthcare training in ethics at the University of Washington in Seattle. Dr. Lange is a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She is a member of the SSM St. Mary’s Madison Ethics Committee, and active in the implementation of enhanced recovery protocols in surgery across the SSM system. In her free time, Dr. Lange enjoys running, softball, camping, hiking, and spending time with her husband and two young daughters.
