The multidisciplinary management of rectal cancer is rapidly evolving. Currently, there are several emerging areas of controversy. This symposium aims to review existing data and help surgeons translate such data into real-life clinical practice.

Learning Objectives:

Recognize principles related to surgical resection and complication management of low-lying rectal cancer.
Explain the indications, options, and impacts of various forms of preoperative pelvic radiation.
