Deidra Roach, MD currently serves as a Program Director for the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism where, among other responsibilities, she manages research portfolios addressing the treatment of co-occurring mental health and alcohol use disorders and alcohol-related HIV/AIDS among women. She also serves on the Interagency Coordinating Committee on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (ICCFASD) and the NIH Coordinating Committee for Research on Women’s Health. Dr. Roach chairs the Interagency Work Group on Drinking and Drug Use, which includes representatives from multiple federal agency partners, academia, and health care provider organizations who are committed to improving access to high-quality prevention, treatment, and recovery services for harmful alcohol and other substance use among women and girls.
