Katherine Camfield, MD, MPH is a board-certified adult psychiatrist with special interests emergency psychiatry, addiction, and reproductive psychiatry. She is currently an Emergency Psychiatry Attending at Denver Health Medical Center, which includes being a Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado School or Medicine. Prior to taking this position, she completed a one-year Emergency Psychiatry Fellowship at Denver Health Medical Center, where she received extensive training on advanced emergency psychiatry practices. Dr. Camfield’s research interests include management of addiction in the emergency department setting and perinatal psychiatric emergencies.
Dr. Camfield completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of Southern California and LAC+USC Medical Center. During her time there, she received multiple resident awards, including the 2019 Outstanding Teaching Award for the Keck School of Medicine psychiatry Clerkship, the 2020 Resident Presentation Award for “A focus on Wellness to Improve the Well-being of Third-year Psychiatry Residents,” and the 2021 Resident Mentor Award. Dr. Camfield had multiple posters accepted into the American Psychiatric Association’s national conference as a resident. While in Los Angeles, Dr. Camfield was also very involved in the Southern California Psychiatric Society (SCPS). She was elected as one of two resident-fellow members for the Southern California district branch for two consecutive years, and in 2020 received the Outstanding Resident Award for her work with this organization.
