Fellow
Children's National Hospital
Dr. Anna Carleen, MD is a board certified general pediatrician and is currently completing a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Children's National Medical Center. Her interests include school-based health, eating disorder treatment, and substance use in teenagers and young adults. Her desire to work in substance use stems from the recognition that there is a fast-growing need for providers competent in identifying and managing dependence and addiction across many healthcare settings. Effectively meeting this need also requires community intervention and legislative action, which Dr. Carleen will be studying further by obtaining a Masters in Public Health during her fellowship. She is very excited to be a first-time attendee and presenter at ASAM and looks forward to career-long learning about Addiction Medicine.
