Joseph Carhart, Ph.D., is a data scientist at Bamboo Health and adjunct professor of data science and psychology for the Kentucky Community & Technical College System.
Carhart’s research focuses on solving problems with epidemiological methods and data science. Carhart has deployed several production supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised machine learning models and is the co-author of several peer-reviewed publications and white papers spanning domains such as behavioral health, PDMP utilization and dispensation patterns, psychiatric pharmacogenomics, and metabolic dysfunction.
Carhart received his doctorate in Epidemiology from the University of Louisville, where he focused on the effect of dietary and supplemental iron on metabolic dysfunction (i.e., insulin resistance, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, metabolic syndrome, Type-2 diabetes mellitus) in a large cohort of U.S. females.
