H. Claire West, MD is an Associate Professor of Medicine with the Division of General Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is the medical director for the Department of Medicine Multidisciplinary Clinic at Panther Creek in Cary, North Carolina, and a clinician-educator with a large primary care practice. She is the founder and director of the embedded Opioid Use Disorder Clinic in the UNC Internal Medicine Faculty Practice. Her scholarly interests include teaching and practicing addiction medicine in the primary care setting, harm reduction, pain management, quality improvement, collaborative care models and care delivery innovations.
