Dr Phillip J Summers MD MPH is an emergency and addiction physician, medical director of the addiction clinic based within the syringe services program SANE, Assistant Fellowship Director in the UC Davis Division of Addiction Medicine, an executive committee member of the Sacramento County Public Health Advisory Board, and a physician at the narcotic treatment program CORE Medical Clinic, Transitions Clinic, and Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. He completed medical school and residency at UC Davis and a master's in public health at Harvard. His interests include anti-stigma education in addiction medicine, harm reduction, benzodiazepine detoxification, buprenorphine microdose starts, and low-barrier services for people who use drugs.
