Dr. Caitlin E. Martin is an assistant professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. She completed her undergraduate education at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. She earned her medical and public health degrees at Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine and Public Health. She then completed her residency training at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Board certified in both OBGYN and Addiction Medicine, she directs the intergrated OBGYN-Addiction care program for pregnant and parenting people at Virginia Commonwealth University. As a physician scientist supported by a NIDA Career Development Award, her research aims to advance the evidence base for the individualizing of addiction treatments, including by sex, gender, social determinants and comorbidities.
