ASAM's Health Technology team manages the implementation of quality care tools, including the CONTINUUM and CO-Triage. The ASAM CONTINUUM was developed in collaboration between ASAM and SAMHSA to provide clinicians with a comprehensive and standardized multidimensional assessment aligned with the ASAM Criteria. With the ASAM CONTINUUM, clinicians can conduct a full biopsychosocial assessment, determine the least intensive but safe and appropriate Level of Care recommendation, and generate comprehensive reports for the next steps in the clinical workflow.
The ASAM CONTINUUM meets the regulatory requirements as an evidence-based, standardized assessment tool for federal funding through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' 1115 waivers. Through this funding source, the ASAM CONTINUUM is utilized in statewide implementations and has achieved widespread adoption nationally.
