Session Description: You are excited about the renovation of a unit. You’ve collaborated on the ICRA; you’ve rounded on the barriers and given the thumbs up for construction to commence. The project manager asks if you can swing by on the way out to look at an “interesting thing” they found. The ducts in the unit, which were not scheduled to be replaced, are lined for sound dampening. There is clear biologic growth and they need to know next steps. This is further complicated because this ducting is actively in use in other parts of the unit not under construction. What do you do to assure immediate patient safety and how do you determine if harm occurred?
