Graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington with a BS Degree. Worked as a Medical Technologist in Microbiology at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Obtained ASCP and Microbiology Specialty Certification. She attained an MS Degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas and her PhD in Public Health (concentration Epidemiology) from Walden University. Trained in Infection Prevention, she has 17 years of experience with clinical public health interventions, as well as disease surveillance and monitoring. Doramarie’s skills include knowledge/expertise in microbiology, epidemiology, statistics, sterilization/disinfection, infectious diseases, antibiotic usage, clinical practice and teaching skills. She helped create a Special Pathogens Task Force at UT Southwestern which is the Assessment Facility for North Texas. She is the Co-Chair of the Nominating and Awards Committee for APIC.
